| | anxious | ] | Friday:
Woke up 6AM, drove to NJ for my interview at Vonage. Got there in really good time. Voanage's campus is pretty nice, it's all very .com'ie in the old school way with some new school flair. Got Red Bull machines, and flat screen TV's on the walls, everyone works in identical cubes from the mail room to the CEO (very Intel'ish there). Interview went "OK" in my words... I kinda botched the technical interview but otherwise I made a decent impression I think. Not sure.
On the way back I wound up SOMEHOW in AC, gee... no idea how that happened. I love the Borgata... ahhh gambling where I really feel alive. Wound up spending like 200 bucks (I would have spent more but I forced myself to leave before I got stupid). I watched a guy at the blackjack table with me burn through a 2700 buck marker in the same time I lost my 150. Where do people get money like that...
Sat:
Got home like 3AM, passed out. Woke up went to Jason's for the lan party. Dota, CoD2, Unreal 2004 and some beerz where played/drank. Was fun but I was pretty tired from Friday so it was all kind a haze.
Sun:
HOW ABOUT THOSE SKINS... Jesus Christ! Oh well...
On a plus note the chili I made was pretty damn good!
Today:
L-3 extended me an offer today, so now I'm trying to figure out what to do... stay at L-3 or go to Vonage... or just quit and live a hobo's life. |

| Long time... |
[Nov. 7th, 2006|10:56 am] |
Whelp... where to begin.
I guess I'll start with that I no longer work for EDS? I don't think I mentioned that here although anyone who reads this probably already knows that. I am currently on contract with L-3 Communications, although my contract period is almost up.
Looks like they want to hire me on here, but I also have Vonage looking to hire me. I am going to NJ to interview with them on Friday. Interview is at 1PM takes about 4 hours to get there + traffic time... so I figure I need to leave about 6:30AM or so. Ick...
On other fronts, not much has been going on. Chuck's Halloween party was last week and was awesome as usual. I bartended the party and I'll tell you that's hard work. Remember people tip your bartenders! I was amazed we ran out of Vodka around 10:30 or so... Got to remember next year vodka is like the #1 mix drink component. Gotta get more Vodka.
As you might notice my userpic is now a WoW pic, a Druid in full Dreamwalker. I'm next up in my guild to pic up druid set loot from Naxx, so hopefully I'll start getting some of that. That is if I don't burn out on WoW, right now I still love the game but I'm getting a little burnt on the 100% A game all the time that is needed in the end game. I'm sure I'll keep playing but part of me just wants to go watch TV or play FF12 or something. I'm sure the expansion will solve a lot of things. Of course the expansion probably marks the end of me in my Guild (Avatars of Discord, Icecrown) as the new 25 man raid cap is going to trim out the guilds in the game and I'm not considers a star player in the guild. I'm sure the "downsizing" as I put it will result with me getting a nice pink slip and a pat on the back for all my hard work. Wow... raiding really is like a job. hah!
What else... oh I pretty much gained all the weight I lost a few years ago back. That's not good. I need to get back to exercising, that's all I really need to do what I eat isn't so bad it's just I sit on my ass all day long. Problem is I really have no one to go to the gym with and I have a hard time motivating myself. Oh well I started to sit ups nighty maybe if I ease into it I'll get back into the pattern I was in when I lost 70 lbs. |

| | The sounds of crushed dreams and SSX3... | ] | Well... I'm sitting home on tonight, watching Bhodi playing SSX3. I should be smoozing and drinking at Kken's uber awesome sounding Matrix party but alas. Why you ask? Well... I'll tell you.
Bhodi wasn't feeling to good, so we got a late start. Chalk this up to a little to much partying the night before hand. Kken lives in a happening part of DC, so we should have left earlier but it was OK we weren't that late. Well we drive in, hit 18th and start heading down to Adams Morgan area, BOOM... da cops. 20 mins later and 100 bucks poorer we pull away rather pissed off.
Now we are REALLY late. We fight our way down to his area and hunt for parking. 45 mins later and 1/4 of a tank of gas left we finally both decided... DC sucks when you're in a car. So fuck it, we're out here.
So... I'm home. This blows, the cops blow and the parking in Adams Morgan REALLY blows. Hopefully everyone at the party had fun at least... it looked cool when we drove past it.
There is a silver lining on the day at least. The HOOOOT admin. at the Eye Doctor I go to was flirting with me some this afternoon. That made my day, heh.
**** UPDATE ****
Oddly enough, the movie Groove popped into my head. I feel like our night was the gay dudes who couldn't find the party until it was over. Except I'm not gay... and we knew where the party was, but we were driving a Volkswagen. Oh well, time to go to bed. >:( |

It's been quite a while since an update but then again, I haven't had much to say. Like I said in my last entry I went to OBX on vacation for a week in the beginning of Sept. I had a blast. I was nice to just relax for a week, I really think I needed it more then I thought I did. If your curious, feel free to check out the picture gallery at my website.

Work has been... work. Kinda stressful at time but oh well, it pays the bills huh? I'm looking around for a new job but without much luck. I guess I just don't have the skills needed right now in such a depressed IT market. Definitely can't hurt to keep looking however.
I went to the Maryland Renaissance Festival yesterday with some friends. I had a great time. The renfaire really is a fun place, lots of stuff to look at, good food, good drink, and the weather was great. Yesterday was Single's Day at the renfaire too, but that wasn't really the reason I went. They were doing somekinda number/message board thing where you got a number on you and if you say someone you liked, you could leave a message at the message board. I passed on the whole thing, the whole meat market vibe it gave me creeped me out. Definitely some cute girls there however, I will say that.
I also watched The Rundown last night. I was a pretty damn entertaining movie. It was nice to see an action movie where the hero was pretty much as badass as humanly possible. Christopher Walken was definitely a highlight of the movie. The whole tooth fairy thing had me rolling on the floor basically. I highly suggest if you like good school style action comedy's you check this one out.
Oh yeah... and the Skins won again today! W00t. 3-1 baby... Now, back to more football. |

| | annoyed | ] | Here's the update... nothing really out of the ordinary.
Friday: I got up and decided to not go to work. I wasn't feeling up to it. Later in the day went to play golf at the local Chip and Putt with my roomies Matt and Dave and 2 other friends Matt and Hunter. It was pretty fun. Got some sun, got chewed alive by bugs. I got in some decent shots too.
Later, we went to a new bar/pool hall place in Roslyn called Contentintal. It was pretty cool. It's owned by the same company that owns Carpool, but it's a tad more lively than carpool is. For dinner we were going to hit Cafe Asia, but we ran into techincal errors and wound up at Red, Hot and Blue instead. Some of the folks went off to Georgetown, and I would went but NO ONE TOLD ME THEY WERE GOING!! I wasn't exactly dressed to go. Oh well...
Saturday: I meet up with some friends to watch Freddy vs Jason. It was actually a really entertaining move, IF you liked the others. It's definately for fans of the old movies. Later we jut hung out at Noel's and basically vegged, was good fun.
Sunday: Didn't do much, cleaned my room, washed some clothes. My Dad stopped by and we got dinner. He dropped off my surfcaster and tackle for my pending OBX trip. I haven't gone fishing in years. Hopefully I can remember!
Well, that's it. Took me like 45 mins to write thing cause of working annoying me. Oh well... |

| | Coast to Coast AM | ] | Well... this weekend has been pretty interesting.
Friday- Leave a pretty crappy day of work, get into my car annnnndddd... It's all funked up. Looks like the transmission is going, and the car is no longer dependable to drive. THANKFULLY, I was just about ready to buy a new car. However my ducks aren't quite in a row yet and I need to get my ass in gear. I spent a good chunk of my weekend bouncing e-mails to dealers and I've gotten a pretty good offer on a new VW GTI Turbo. I think I'll probable be getting that, since I really don't have much time to ponder. It's a good car, but it's not the Mini Cooper I really wanted.
Anyways, I drove the junker home, got someone to pick me up, and headed to Carpool. Wasn't really in the mood to drink much. I also got the news that Michelle, the cute waitress there is moving to Indianapolis. Oh well, I woulda never gotten the nerve to ask her out or anything, hell, I can't even talk to her.
Later that night got some Chick-fil-a and killed the rest of the night playing some old X-Box demo discs with friends.
Saturday- Spent the morning looking for car stuffs... later that afternoon got some lunch and then hit Best Buy and Barnes and Noble. I picked up Tiger Wood Golf 2003 for X-Box. Watched the first 1/2 of the football game, but ti was pretty lame, so we played a 4 hour skins games in Tiger Wood... that was fun.
Sunday- Played "Knights of the Old Republic" for a chunk of the day, game is DAMN addicting. Later I caught American Wedding: American Pie 3 with bhodi. FUNNY AS HELL, and pretty touching too. Stifler is da MAN... Then I can come, got dinner and played some NWN.
On thing AP3 did make me think about though... was how I am kinda lonely. Kinda sad I guess. I do a pretty good job repressing all that stuff, keeping myself focused on work and my hobbies. I try to make sure I keep myself busy and such. I suppose people are right when they tell me I run away from my fears to much, and it's true. I have a really hard even pondering anything relationship based, which might sound odd I suppose. I seriously can not fathom being in a relationship with a women. And no, I'm not gay... the sex I can imagine, but not everything else, the talking and the trust and I guess whatever else people do in relationships. I guess I'm just totally broken when it comes to this stuff. I dunno what to do to fix myself or even if it's possible, or even worth the effort.
Bah, enough of this pointless whining. I need to get to sleep soon, I got a fucking HARD day at work tomorrow. |

| [ | mood |
| | dorky | ] | Yeah so... I don't update a lot, no one reads this crap anyways.
Ahh, so where to begin. Well, work sucks. Things really haven't gotten worse persay, but I'm just kinda burning out. I really need a change of pace or something. I shouldn't really bitch much about work though, I have a job which is a lot more then others have.
I've been playing PC games a lot more then I used to be, Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne is really cool. It's a shame I TOTALLY suck at it. I've also been playing Planetside. It's really cool. I decided to buy a new vid card so I can play the thing with all the effects, etc cranked up and get my mandatory over 60 FPS framerate. I got a Gainward GeForce 5600 Ultra for about 150 off of pricewatch. Hopefully it'll get here Sat/Mon.
Last weekend I helped my roomie move his GF down to VA to live with us. Sat. Afternoon we went down to 30th St. in Philly to walk around. Pretty cool place. It's like some uber indie outdoor stripmall. Later that evening we got sushi and then went to a few bars near Villa Nova. Had a good time. Oh yeah, and we moved some stuff the next day. Heh heh heh.
I got some new toys too... I got the SOC Eva-01. It's damn cool. Also some Choryujin toy and the cool ass Getta 1 toy from Xebec. Stupid robots... downfall of my life!
I went and saw Rockwell Church last night. Pretty good as usually. They're a little to mellow for my tastes at times, but the songs have interesting lyrics. Being funny as hell during the show helps a lot too. Some cute girls there too.
And on a sad closing note, a friend of mine Scott is currently in the hospital in a coma. Supposedly it's somekinda neurological issue. I'm hoping he pulls through. |

| | sleepy | ] | Feels good to have a 3 day weekend. I guess work was stressing me out more then I imagined cause I felt like I really needed to just veg for a bit.
Friday (4th o' July) - The EvilFetus had a big BBQ bash. It was a lot of fun. Ate WAY to much food, drank some booze but not to much, and played volleyball. I had a lot of fun playing volleyball, definitely good times.
Saturday - Pretty much did... nothing! Played some WC3:TFT during the day. My roomies GF cooked us dinner which was good. After dinner we went to Barnes and Noble and got some coffee at the attached Starbucks. Milled around reading books for a while. Later I watched Old School, which was quite funny.
Sunday - Cleaned my room up some, washed clothes... oh so exciting stuff. Saw T3-RotM tonight with kken. It was quite a good film I must say. Ending caught me by surprise a tad.
Ok... the weekend update is done, time to sleep. |

| | blah | ] | Recent Events:
Last weekend I went to my friend rys's Wine Fest 2003. That was pretty fun, all in all we killed, as a group a total of 17 bottles of wine. Here is the aftermath! I also went to see 28 Days Later which was quite excellent. Well done, I think it dragged a tad in the first 30 mins or so, but it was well done. Didn't pull many punches either, it's pretty raw.
Work:
Work pretty much... sucks. EDS is like redtape central, and I'm not even using 5% of the stuff I'm suppose to be using it. HTF do contractors ever get anything done. All I can say, contracting work is not for me. The lack of freedom to do anything proactive is like againist every fiber of my being. If anyone reading this is pondering outsourcing for their company, DON'T, I repeat DON'T! Hire people who will actually care about the WORK and not the fact they need to fill out 5 forms or they'll get yelled at.
4th Weekend Planz:
Well, The Frozen Throne is coming out today, so I'm sure that'll at least take a bit of my weekend time up.
Friday is also a friends 4th BBQ/Party. Should be fun, but it seems like it'll be ending like 7-8 at night. I dunno what I'll be doing with myself after that. It'll be interesting.
Other then that, I have 0 plans... shocker. |

STUFF: Work is chaos... I'm getting pulled in 500 directions from a multitude of people, not exactly fun. Right now EDS, who I am employed by, is cataloging all the equipment here. I think they are finally getting a clue on how much exactly they bit off.
Besides work, not much is going on, played some NWN last night, game is fun. Well, off to the datacenter to configure some network equipment. then home to NWN... and rinse and repeat. |

| | full | ] | Sheesh, I've been either busy with work, or pre-occupied with other happens I haven't updated in a bit. Here we go.
Work: - Yesterday the bankruptcy court ratified the renegotiated EDS contract, making the deal official. The effective date of the transfer to EDS will be 12:01 AM on Saturday, June 7th.
So yes, now I offically no longer a MCI employee, and now an EDS employee. I'll be curious how F'ed up everything will get at work now, heh.
- Matt's last day is Weds. w00t.
- The Datacenter Migration needs to be completed by the end of the month. I'm like the only one that can really do it. Double w00t.
Games: - Beat SRWA2 on Kusuha's route. Pretty cool ending. Started playing on Arad's route, nifty.
- I'm stoked for the WC3:TFT retail version, so I can play multiplayer with people around my skill level instead of just the total and utter ownage I get right now. Also, everyday I see more info on World of Warcraft and just get more and more excited by it. It looks like the MMORPG I've been waiting for!
Life: - Last night I went to Carpool and drank some beerz, play a bit of pool. The standard crew of people were all off doing other stuff, so it was just Noel, Jay and I. After we got some grub and went to see Finding Nemo. Finding Nemo was quite a good movie, IMHO. Funny and touching in some parts. Great writing and of course the CG was awesome. On the topic of movies, I want to see The Italian job at some point, and I have 0 interest in seeing 2 Fast 2 Furious.
- Tonight, I'm getting some sushi with kken, and after that, who knows. |

I know as soon as it gets sunny, it's also gonna get to like 110F and I'll be bitching about that instead. :P
My co-worker/roommate Matt finally put his 2 week notice in yesterday. So now I am the ONLY one responsible for the hardware maintiance and low level OS Adminisration of over 1200 Sun servers. Joy of joys! Hopefully whenever the EDS transition comes through they'll get me some help and make me a site manager or something. Here's hoping!
Oh yeah, since I'm gonna be alone soon I'm going to taking tomorrow and monday off... gotta get an eye exam and some new glasses. |

| The Long Weekend Rundown... |
[May. 27th, 2003|02:15 pm] |
FRIDAY: As stated earlier, we bolted work early. We did the Status Quo event of Carpool, where I played pool/darts and drank beer. Was fun as per the norm. Afterward we all went our separate ways, went to Red Robin and then the newly remodeled Best Buy in Sterling.
The BB is cool, it's all interactive no. You can scan CD's and listen to the songs. DVD's you can scan and watch the trailers, it's pretty nifty. They have a section where you can play LAN'ed games, I beleive Battlefield 1942 was the game of choice. After frolicking in nerd paradise, we went home. I played RO... go me.
SATURDAY: Hmm, did the standard clothes washing/house cleaning in the morning/afternoon. Afterward I drove up to MD to hang with some friends. We went to a damn nice pool hall/bar play called Orange Ball Billiards in Rockville. Not much to say other then I sucked ass playing, I don't think I won a game, bah. Afterwards I went to my friends Ralph's place, played some Soul Caliber 2.
SUNDAY: Pretty uneventful, I'm trying to converse cashflow, so I pretty much just putz'ed around the house all day. Played some Magic Online, RO, worked out in the gym at my complex.
MONDAY: Putz'ed around the morning, getting ready for the BBQ/Party. Went to my friend Hunter's place around 3PM. The party was a lot of fun, I basically sat on the deck the whole time and drank beer. Felt good to actually sit in the sun for a while. Here's a picture of me in my drunken stupor.. More pics can be found HERE. Got home around 10PM from the party, it's a shame we did it on Monday, it could have easily lasted longer.
TODAY: I woke up feeling a bit funky, to much beering yesterday I suppose. A Mocha from Starbucks quickly solved that problem. Stomach is currently full from a quite tasty Antipasto Salad I had from lunch at a local pizza joint. The pizza tempted me so... they slice their sausage... oh god... |

At the time of the transition to EDS, MCI will pay employees for any earned untaken vacation and floating holidays on record. EDS will prorate vacation for the balance of the year, based on employee's personal entitlement.
So basically... BOOYAH! Extra paycheck and EDS is still gonna give me a week of vacation! That makes me feel much better about this EDS move.
Also... I bolted after lunch, so I'm home. w00t! The beering will commence promptly at 4:01PM. |

In other news, I signed all the EDS paperwork today, working for them won't be SO bad. Seems to be a much more stable place to work then MCI would be. Few issues involving my MCI vacation days, since EDS is prorating our vacation to 1 week, and I haven't used ANY of it yet this year. Hopefully soon I'll know what's going on there.
My roomie/co-worker Matt got a new job making some serious bankage, congrats to him! Hopefully someday he'll need some help there and hook me up. ;)
The weather in the DC Metro area has been total SUCKAGE, as of late. All this grey and rain is getting me down. Well... everything get me down, but this is getting me down more then normal.
I'm sure I have more to say... maybe later, got stuff to do. |
